Hands-on with RideON’s AR skiing goggles

    

Google Glass may currently be on hiatus, but wearable tech
for your face — whether virtual or augmented reality — isn’t
going away any time soon. One of the best use cases so far is
sports, particularly those in which people already wear glasses or
goggles for safety. Israeli startup RideOn wants to apply
augmented reality to snowsports, with its augmented reality snow
goggles. 

While a small number of companies have already released
connected goggles — notably the Oakley Airwave and Zeal
Optics Z3, which give users heads up displays — RideOn claims to
be the first to have developed a true AR headset. Among its
features: the ability to generate virtual slalom runs on the snow,
or project directions on the piste as you carve.
