RO plants for 24 fluoride-hit villages

Kurnool: A sum of Rs 2.3 crore has been released to Kurnool district for setting up 24 reverse osmosis (RO) plants in fluoride-affected villages under the National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP).

Speaking to newsmen here on Wednesday, Rural Water Supply Superintending Engineer Bhanu Veera Prasad said the department had already identified the fluoride-hit villages for setting up the RO plants.

An RO plant using nanotechnology would be set up at Kambaladinne village in Peddakadabur mandal on a pilot basis, where the fluoride content in groundwater is very high, the SE said.
