Cry havoc, and let slip the cats of war: Facebook now lets you post animated GIFs to your wall. Even non-cat ones, believe it or not.
The social network has been perhaps the one area of the net untouched by animals yawning or comedy reactions represented in slightly jarring animation loops. Previously, the closest users could get to sharing GIFs was a Flash-based workaround provided by Giphy, which embedded a video of a GIF. A similar end result, but a real faff just to share, say, Jake from Adventure Time crying.
