Cmoar VR headset echoes Oculus’ Kickstarter success

A new player has entered the rapidly growing virtual reality field: Polish studio Cmoar. Its eponymous VR headset has achieved its funding goal on Kickstarter, reaching $120,249 (£81,310) on an initial ask of $100k. The device is expected to ship to backers in June 2015.

The hardware is closer to Samsung Gear VR than Oculus Rift, focusing on smartphone integration into the headset, and compatible with both Android and iPhone models. The caddy that holds your phone in place is adjustable, so screens from 4″ to 5.7″ will fit. Cmoar claims compatibility with over 150 handsets, including the recent iPhone 6.
