How to imbue computer superintelligence with human goals

The pitfalls and dangers of computer superintelligence have long been bothering some of the world’s greatest computing pioneers — physicist Stephen Hawking, Deepmind’s Demis Hassabis and founder of Acorn Computers, Hermann Hauser, among them. But according to Hauser, dealing with them has become increasingly urgent.

Speaking on stage at Pioneers Festival in Vienna, Hauser says that following a survey of experts in the field around the world, “the consensus is that it is perfectly possible that we will have these computer intelligences that are more intelligent than humans by 2050.”
