“Hello, my name is Han. Pleased to meet you.” The computer-generated voice greeting me throws me somewhat, given the remarkably human face it emerges from.
I poke Han in the nose, and then the lips. I pinch his cheek and run my fingers over his eyebrows. His skin is soft, springy, malleable. Han rolls his eyes, like he’s used to people prodding him in the face. This isn’t the way I usually greet someone new, but Han is not technically human, so I feel like I can probably get away with it.
