With Marvel’s Daredevil series arriving on Netflix, it kicks off a whole new era for the superhero publisher’s Cinematic Universe. Having practically dominated cinema since Iron Man arrived on screen in 2008, the move to the small screen brings a chance to focus on the “street level” crime fighters from the comics, those without billion-dollar battlesuits, super-soldier serums, or gamma-powered anger issues.
Unlike Marvel’s other spin-off Agents of SHIELD, which is broadcast on regular television, Daredevil will follow the Netflix model of a whole season being made available in one go. But before you marathon the entire thirteen-episode run, WIRED.co.uk has prepared a beginner’s guide to the character and his world.
