It is with great sadness we announce that our world famous dowser, George Applegate, died in the Firlawn Nursing Home, Holt, near his home in Trowbridge, Wiltshire on 7th April 2015, aged 93. George was granted Life Membership of the BSD by our founder Colonel Bell in 1946, and became well known throughout the world as a reliable water diviner, with an unbeatable record of over 2,700 successful water wells to his credit. He was still dowsing worldwide last year, including assisting oil companies in locating sources of oil. George was very generous in sharing his dowsing skills with others and assisting them when help was required with their water divining activities. His book, The Complete Guide to Dowsing, published in 2002 is still the most respected source of information for water diviners.
