When Marc Koska stepped into a room of policymakers and brought up the subject of replacing all the world’s syringes with his safer, one-use version, he was treated like the enemy.
“Manufacturers were against me,” Lifesaver founder and inventor of the K1 auto-disable syringe told the audience at WIRED Health 2015. “There were several stories of factories being bulldozed, death threats, and offers to sell the patent so that it could be buried.”
